Hi Denis,

The following with CentOS OS would be  good to start with.

http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/produkte_rootserver/ex4

Pls. do note the fine print in "Unlimited traffic".

Regards,
-Sudhir

Hi Sudhir,

Please let me know what options do I need.

Thanks,
Denis

Hi

Any feedback?

Denis

Sudhir Kelappan on November 16, 2012:

Hi Denis,

Following options should be good. Debian is more stable than CentOS.

OS: Debian 64-bit + Cpanel.

We should subscribe for the flexi-pack with the following addons:
*4 port raid hardware controller
*300 GB SAS x 4 with Raid 0 configuration
*3TB SATA 6Gb/s as the backup drive

Some points to consider during server setup. The mount points should be in
such a way that:

1. Debian OS should be installed in a single partition all in one /

2. The Raid configuration with 4x300GB = 1.2TB should be mounted as
/application-drive

3. 3TB SATA should be mounted as /backup

Please let us know the affordable downtime to restore the data in-case of
the data loss in the disk. Depending on this we can suggest the RAID
configuration.

Regards,
Sudhir

Hello Denis,

We will start working on this and shall update here on the progress.

Thanks
Mithun

Mithun Cheriyath on December 18, 2012:

Hello Denis,

We completed the OS installation and rebooted the server. But failed to connect back. On checking the control panel, we found that this new EX4 is not added in the same account which you had provided earlier.

Kindly provide the control panel details in which this server is added so that we can contact the support team for further assistance.
